While Oguna didn't stay for very long in this place, he arrived at the same time as Izumo. Finding out about the "technology" that existed there (phones, elevators, lamps etc) was nothing he was interested in, but together with a woman he met in the lobby, he made some small investigations on the phone and realized it was a communication device. At the same time, he also decided not to use it, because it's a suspicious thing. Afther that, he ran into Izumo, who decided to drag Oguna around the whole place to explore, much to Oguna's annoyance. But since Izumo is one of his few actual friends, he went along with it. When he realized that he had been given a so called "room mate" he left the room he had been given and invaded Izumo's room. It's better sharing a room with an idiot that you know, rather than with a stranger that you have no clue about how they are.
But then night came, and they found this weird doll in their room, Oguna decided that they would dispose of them. Because they happened to be hell of a lot suspicious, according to him. But then, most things are. Izumo, on the other hand, wanted to investigate the dolls more closely, but the result of that investigation was that the dolls was weird, and Izumo lost his ability to speak, while Oguna went blind. As this didn't really have any effect on Oguna's part (even if it was discomforting in a way, that Izumo didn't ramble on like he normally did) they went to get rid of the dolls. While doing so, Izumo vanished completely, and Oguna was unable to find him. He got so caught up in searching for his friend that he didn't notice when daytime came once more, and those who still had dolls ended up at stakes, burned to various degrees. Oguna (not blind anymore as night turned to day) was semi-burned, but has burn scars from this time. This event also ended up with him being even more distrustful of things that he doesn't know about, and more distrustful of people that he doesn't know. And after Izumo's disappearance, he really start to wonder if he is not allowed to have friends, after all, because considering the deadly nature of the nights in the Hotel, he thinks that it is likely that Izumo died. And considering how many of his friends it is that has died up to this point, one has to wonder. But this question also makes him even more reluctant to talk to strangers, and to let them in close. He doesn't want anyone to die because they become his friends, and he has resolved (once more, after he finally, in his world, decided that maybe it is alright to have friends) that he won't call anyone his friend anymore.

Oguna arrived to a room in an apartment building, where he instantly picked a fight with another newcomer, who was instantly dubbed an idiot. On the stairs, he met Ichiko Sakura, who borrowed a few knives from him to fight off monsters. He also met Lenalee Lee, and learned about her ability of flight. After that, the most important meeting he did that day was Izumo, who, as it turned out, did not remember a thing about the Hotel.
After accusing Izumo's friend of plotting someone's murder,
